The Portland Trail Blazers liked what they saw from last season’s team, and they’re doing what they can to keep the roster together. That includes spending big money to retain Allen Crabbe.
According to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Blazers have matched the 4-year, $75 million offer the Brooklyn Nets signed Crabbe to. Since he was a restricted free agent, matching the offer means the Blazers will keep Crabbe at that price.
Many thought Portland would let Crabbe go to Brooklyn after signing Evan Turner to a $70 million deal and giving Meyers Leonard $41 million, but they decided they would also spring for the former Cal star.

Crabbe showed great improvement last season as he shot 45.9 percent from the field and averaged 10.3 points per game — both career-high marks. Along with C.J. McCollum, Damian Lillard and Turner, Crabbe will give the emerging Blazers a deep rotation in the backcourt.
