Damian Lillard surprises young kids with free Adidas shoes
Damian Lillard signed a supermax contract extension with the Portland Trail Blazers this offseason that is worth nearly $200 million, and the star point guard is already putting the money to good use.
Over the weekend, Lillard ran into a group of young kids while he was shopping and decided to treat them to an awesome surprise. He told them to all pick out five pairs of Adidas shoes each.
"Five pairs of shoes each. Grab whatever ya'll want." @Dame_Lillard loves the kids.

Some people wondered if the good deed was staged because a camera was rolling, but Lillard says it was not planned out in advance. He explained that he was shopping with his Adidas rep, who decided to record the exchange.
It actually was … I was shopping and my adidas rep told me how much my adidas card held and I saw those kids and told him ima get them some shoes … and he recorded it … the family was cool too https://t.co/z6KoSvjW1g

Whether Lillard was “just doing it for the camera” or not shouldn’t really matter. Either way, those kids got five new pairs of shoes and a memory that will last a lifetime. Lillard has already had to defend himself for taking max money, but Shannon Sharpe should take note of the way he spent some of it.
