The Houston Rockets clinched a playoff berth with a win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, but Mike D’Antoni isn’t exactly celebrating.
After Houston’s 105-82 victory over the Mavs, D’Antoni was asked about clinching a postseason berth. He didn’t overreact to the accomplishment.
Mike D’Antoni isn’t quite popping champagne after the Rockets officially clinched a playoff bid. “We have bigger aspirations,” he said.

Indeed, making the playoffs was a mere formality for the Rockets, who improved to an NBA-best 52-14 with the win.
The Rockets have their eyes set on beating the Golden State Warriors in the West, reaching the NBA Finals, and winning it all. For their purposes, the real season begins next month.
