Referees miss obvious Kawhi Leonard foul on final Thunder play
The officials in Tuesday’s Game 5 between the Spurs and Thunder in San Antonio missed a couple of clear calls late in the game that helped tilt things in favor of Oklahoma City.
With nine seconds left, the Thunder were up 92-91 and had the ball after a timeout. The Spurs planned to intentionally foul, but the referees did not call a foul even though Kawhi Leonard clearly grabbed Russell Westbrook:
Instead, Westbrook kept going, made a layup, and a foul was called on LaMarcus Aldridge, giving Westbrook the opportunity for a three-point play, which he completed.
After the game, head coach Gregg Popovich said he thought it was pretty clear a foul was committed by Leonard:

That wasn’t the only poor call in retrospect. A few possessions earlier, referees called a foul on Danny Green for diving into Kevin Durant, even though Green only collided with Durant because Steven Adams tripped him on a screen:
Thanks to the foul while he was shooting, Durant went to the line and made two free throws to put OKC up 92-90.
Here was Danny Green’s reaction to the play:

The Thunder won 95-91 and are now up 3-2 in the series. Who saw this coming?
