Scottie Pippen has another basketball-playing son, and he is officially headed to the West Coast.

Justin Pippen, the son of the Basketball Hall of Famer Scottie, announced over social media this week that he has made his transfer decision. After spending this past season with the Michigan Wolverines, Justin is now transferring to Cal.

A former four-star recruit, Justin played very sparingly for the Wolverines as a freshman. He averaged 1.6 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in an abbreviated 6.7 minutes per game and formally entered the transfer portal right before Michigan’s season came to an end. But he seemingly has the talent to succeed at the college level as a 6-foot-3 combo guard.

Justin put up 16.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game as a senior at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, Calif. He was also the No. 62-ranked prospect overall in the 2024 recruiting class by 247 Sports.

At 19 years old, Justin is the third child of Scottie and ex-wife Larsa Pippen and is also their youngest son. His oldest brother Scotty Jr. is currently continuing the Pippen legacy in the NBA where he plays for the Memphis Grizzlies. Scotty Jr, who attended college at Vanderbilt, is averaging 9.8 points and 4.4 assists per contest this season as a key bench cog (and occasional Ja Morant fill-in) for the 47-32 Grizzlies.

A couple of years ago, Justin received a scholarship offer from another notable program in the Bay Area. Now Justin has decided to take his talents to Berkeley and play in the ACC for head coach Mark Madsen and Cal.
