Shaq admits he is jealous of Kobe Bryant retirement tour
Shaquille O’Neal never got a retirement tour quite like the one Kobe Bryant is currently receiving, and it’s making him jealous.
In Monday’s edition of The BIG Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal said that he’d always wanted his own retirement tour, but for various reasons, injuries in particular, it didn’t come to be.
“I’m super jealous,” Shaq said, via Andrew Joseph of ForTheWin. “I wanted a Shaq tour, man. I did. Like, I never said this but this is killing me. It did. So, you know, I had two years in Boston. I got hurt my first year, but the second year, we were going to plan a whole Shaq tour. I’m super jealous. I wanted a Shaq tour.
“I wanted to just go to the city, and people see me play my last game. I did. I’m like – at first I tried to suck it up, but I can’t. It’s killing me.”
Fear not, Shaq. Kobe is trying not to make a huge deal out of things. He’s requested no gifts or on-court ceremonies before games, stating that he doesn’t even really want a retirement tour. Shaq probably believes that he’d have done it bigger. The rivalry never does, does it?
