Report: Ty Lawson suspended two games for DWIs

Ty Lawson

Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson will reportedly be suspended two games by the NBA after pleading guilty to driving while impaired, according to a report.

Sources told ESPN on Friday that Lawson can appeal the suspension, but may elect not to do so in order to be eligible to play in the Rockets’ Christmas Day game against San Antonio.

Lawson’s current suspension is for a January DWI incident to which he pled guilty in November. There is a chance that Lawson could face further discipline for a second arrest in July for the same offense, after which he spent time in rehab.

Lawson’s career has taken a major tumble, as he’s struggled mightily in his first season with Houston and was benched in favor of Patrick Beverley. More importantly, the hope is that he can get his life in order.
