Devin Haney took a lot of damage last week during his fight against Ryan Garcia. The same could not be said about Haney’s bank account.

Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) was knocked down three times by Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) in their fight held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Garcia won by a majority decision.

On Thursday, Haney responded to an Instagram post made by an account called “Thrill Boxing.” The post stated Garcia made $50 million from the fight, while Haney made $35 million.

Haney included the post in his Instagram story with a caption implying that he had made much more than $35 million.

“If you thought I made 35.. think again. Think bigger b*tch,” Haney wrote.

One of the few defenses that Haney has about the loss is that Garcia weighed several pounds heavier than the agreed-upon 140-pound weight limit. Haney still pushed through with the fight and has since cited Garcia’s weight advantage as one reason to explain the result.

But Garcia missing weight did bring one positive outcome for Haney. Garcia reportedly paid Haney a hefty sum due to coming in 3.2 pounds overweight.

Perhaps the “Thrill Boxing” Instagram page failed to account for Haney winning his weight-related side bet with Garcia.
