Floyd Mayweather blasts Oscar De La Hoya for dressing in drag
The war of words between Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya was taken to a new level this weekend.
Mayweather slammed De La Hoya in a video recorded by Fight Hype, making references to Oscar’s drug problem and cross dressing.
“It’s good to work with guys like Richard Schaefer and Al Haymon, guys that drug free, guys that wear suits, guys that dress like men…of course you know I’m sending shots at Oscar De La Hoya…I’m always sending shots at him because I don’t respect a man that dress in drag,” Mayweather said.
Schaefer and Haymon are Mayweather’s business partners. Haymon is Floyd’s manager, while Schaefer used to essentially run De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions until he and Oscar had a falling out.
The beef between Oscar and Floyd really goes back to 2013 when Mayweather’s Instagram account mocked De La Hoya for going to rehab. Since then they have been trading shots in the media like punches in the ring. Oscar called Floyd “boring,” while Floyd fired back and called Oscar “jealous.”
Now Mayweather gets another dig in at Oscar. And if you’re not sure what Mayweather was talking about when he mentioned the cross-dressing, read this for background.
