At least two Baylor football players are being investigated for their involvement in an alleged sexual assault incident, according to a report.
KWTX in Waco reported on Thursday that at least four suspects were interviewed by police for an incident in November that involved members of the school’s equestrian team. KWTX says the incident occurred at an apartment complex near campus.
According to the report, at least two of the suspects who were interviewed were redshirt freshmen on the Baylor football team.
The incident allegedly occurred late on Nov. 11/early Nov. 12 after the football team lost to Texas Tech earlier in the day. It was reported to the school’s Judicial Affairs and Title IX offices on Nov. 14. Two campus police reports about the matter were dated Nov. 17. They reportedly obtained photos and video as evidence.
The latest report will lead many to feel it’s the same old behavior by Baylor. Baylor football coach Art Briles was ousted in 2016 and school president Ken Starr resigned in the wake of a scandal at the school over the inappropriate handling of numerous sexual assaults involving the football program. A lawsuit filed last year accused at least 31 Baylor football players of committing at least 52 rapes.
