Oklahoma Sooners assistant coach Cale Gundy laughs at the idea of a rival football program being “back.”
After winning the Sugar Bowl on Tuesday night, Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger declared that the Longhorns were “back.”
Though Texas may have some momentum after beating Georgia on a big stage and recording their first double-digit win season since 2009, Gundy wants to remind everyone that Oklahoma never had to be “back” because they’ve remained in the spotlight, continuing to win games over the past decade.

Gundy played at Oklahoma from 1991-1994 and has coached there since 1999. Whether it’s trolling Texas or even Nick Saban, he has shown he’s not afraid to talk some trash.
