Report: Amari Cooper in danger of missing Eagles game with quad injury

The Dallas Cowboys have been banged up on the offensive side of the ball for several weeks now, and they may be without yet another key player in their important divisional game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Amari Cooper left the Cowboys’ loss to the New York Jets early with a quad injury, and multiple reports indicate he is in danger of not being able to suit up in Week 7. Starting offensive linemen Tyron Smith and La’El Collins may have to sit out again, as well.

While Cooper’s injury is not believed to be severe, it is a thigh bruise that had him in quite a bit of pain. The star wide receiver has also been battling foot and ankle injuries for much of the season, so the Cowboys could decide to sit him on Sunday with their bye coming up. That would allow Cooper three full weeks to heal from his various ailments.

Cooper, who is in a contract year, has been arguably the Cowboys’ most important offensive player. He has 33 catches for 515 yards and five touchdowns, and that production has essentially come in just five games. Not having him on the field would be another major obstacle for Dak Prescott to overcome.
