Antonio Pierce is viewed as the favorite to transition from interim head coach to permanent head coach with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he appears to be drawing serious interest from at least one other team.
Pierce will interview for the Titans head coach job over the weekend, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. While the 45-year-old is still among the candidates for the Raiders job, it seems he is giving legitimate consideration to other options.
Pierce went 5-4 as interim head coach of the Raiders after Josh McDaniels was fired. Some of the team’s biggest stars have said they want him to stick around as full-time head coach.

Raiders owner Mark Davis faced a similar situation two years ago when Rich Bisaccia enjoyed success as interim head coach following Jon Gruden’s ousting. A lot of people felt Bisaccia should have been hired as permanent head coach after he led Las Vegas to the playoffs, but Davis went with McDaniels instead. That decision obviously did not work out.
Davis is said to be eyeing at least one big-name candidate, but Pierce might make the most sense. Now that another AFC team has gotten involved, the Raiders might feel a greater sense of urgency.
