The Buffalo Bills have interest in signing Josh McCown and are meeting with the free agent quarterback on Monday.
McCown was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, one year after the team signed him as a free agent. He played poorly in 11 games for Tampa Bay, throwing for just 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, compared to the 13:1 ratio he posted the season before with the Chicago Bears, which made him a coveted target last season.
The Bills are looking to add competition at the quarterback position for E.J. Manuel, who will be entering his third season. The former first-round draft pick was benched last season for Kyle Orton, who was signed after the season began. Orton retired, leaving just Manuel and Jeff Tuel on the roster at quarterback for the Bills.

McCown isn’t the answer, and neither is Manuel. You have to wonder what new head coach Rex Ryan was thinking when he took this job; the Bills have a great defense, but quarterback is a disaster just like it was with the Jets. The Bills need to draft a quarterback because none of the guys they have on the roster are taking them beyond the first round of the playoffs.
