The Arizona Cardinals have been open about their desire to sign Tyrann Mathieu to a contract extension and nothing has changed in that regard.
NFL Media’s James Palmer says Cardinals GM Steve Keim told him he continues to have talks with Mathieu about an extension.

Mathieu went down in December with a knee injury and is recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee. His rehab is said to be going well.
Keim also said Tyrann Mathieu's rehab from ACL is "going very very well". "I have no doubt in my mind he's going to come back full strength"

The Honey Badger was considered a risky pick after being dropped by LSU and he wasn’t taken until the third round by the Cardinals in 2013. However, aside from injury, he has worked out great for the team. Prior to his injury, Mathieu recorded 89 tackles, a sack and five interceptions. Mathieu is a big part of Arizona’s defense and they are wise to try locking him up.
