Cowboys S Jeff Heath did not return to game due to stitches on knee
Jeff Heath got hurt early in the second half of the Dallas Cowboys’ 37-18 win over the New York Giants on Monday night and did not return. Now we know details on the injury he suffered.
Heath made a tackle to save a touchdown on long kick return by the Giants to start the second half. He sustained a cut on the play and needed 12 stitches to seal it. According to Cowboys reporter Michael Gehlken, the stitches were in a place that made it tough for Heath to return.

Heath was credited with four tackles and a quarterback hit in the game — one that helped force a field goal on the Giants’ first possession. Darian Thompson replaced Heath at safety after the injury.
Heath entered the game with 38 tackles on the season.
