Cowboys make decision on Ezekiel Elliott reunion

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back one of their former Pro Bowl players.
Ezekiel Elliott agreed to a deal with the Cowboys on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
He’s back: The #Cowboys have agreed to terms with their former star RB Ezekiel Elliott, per me and @TomPelissero, as the ex-rushing champ now gives Dallas a proven weapon in the backfield.

The Cowboys met with Elliott ahead of the NFL Draft and had made it no secret that they were interested in a reunion with the three-time Pro Bowl running back. Jerry Jones said on Saturday that he believes Elliott still has enough in the tank to be a starter.
Dallas signed veteran free agent running back Royce Freeman earlier this month. Many expected them to draft a running back, but they opted not to. That may have been a factor in their decision to bring Elliott back.
Elliott, who will turn 29 in July, rushed for 642 yards and 3 touchdowns on 184 carries for the Patriots last season. He played for Dallas from 2016-2022 and was one of the most productive backs in the league for much of his time there. The Cowboys handed the lead back role to Tony Pollard last season, but he signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
