Cris Collinsworth called the Dallas Cowboys’ 33-13 thumping of the Philadelphia Eagles on “Sunday Night Football” for NBC in Week 14, and he came away impressed.

Collinsworth was talking with NBC play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico towards the end of Dallas’ big win at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and noted that his big question entering the game was whether the Cowboys’ recent 4-game winning streak was real. Apparently Collinsworth now feels it is very much real (and spectacular). He even labeled the Cowboys a “dangerous” team.

“You know what my question was coming in here,” Collinsworth said to Tirico. “Is this real or not?

“If what we’ve seen over the last month is real, then the Dallas Cowboys are a very dangerous team. Not just for what they’re doing on the offensive side, but what they’re doing — turning the football over — on the defensive side.

“Give me the teams that are good on offense and good on defense, and great expectations tend to follow,” Collinsworth said.

The win over the division-rival Eagles put the Cowboys in first place in the NFC East despite both them and Philly having 10-3 records. The team they both might have to worry about though is San Francisco. The 49ers beat both teams badly (Dallas by 32 points and the Eagles by 23 points).

Still, Collinsworth’s point stands. The way the Cowboys look, they are a dangerous team.
