Dan Fouts suggests there is some sort of Football Hall of Fame drinking hazing

Pro Football Hall of Fame

Being part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame is the highest individual honor someone who spent their career in football can receive. One must have made exceptional contributions to the sport of football in order to be inducted into the exclusive club, which only has 326 inductees.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher learned on Saturday night that he will be one of two coaches inducted into the Hall as part of the 2020 class and was emotional upon hearing the news.

Not only does Cowher have a gold jacket awaiting him, but he also has some sort of initiation to go through too, according to Dan Fouts.

Late in the second quarter of Saturday night’s Baltimore Ravens-Tennesseee Titans playoff game on CBS, Ian Eagle mentioned that at halftime the CBS studio team would be talking about Cowher getting into the Hall. That led Fouts to bring up the initiation.

“Congratulations, rookie. Welcome to the club!” Fouts said of Cowher.

“Is there some kind of initiation, hazing?” Eagle asked.

“Well, it has to do with beverages,” said Fouts.

Before we could learn more, Eagle stopped the conversation.

So what is this beverages deal, Dan? Do new inductees need to buy drinks all weekend to the older players? Is there a ritual where the new class gets locked in a room together and needs to finish a keg before they come out? Do they have to trade shots with Mike Ditka to see who lasts longer? Water chugging with Steve Young? Or something worse? We must know!
