Drake did a decent job of delivering his monologue at the ESPYs on Wednesday night. While there were plenty of jokes that needed work and missed their mark, he was able to get enough laughs to make it through. One of Drake’s best bits came at the expense of his good friend Johnny Manziel.
When talking about LeBron James’ decision to return to Cleveland, Drake joked that the only person who might not be happy about it is Manziel. He then poked fun at Johnny Football’s party boy lifestyle.
“Right before I came out here I got a text from him asking if I wanted to do mushrooms and watch the ESPYs together tonight,” Drake joked. “Johnny, I hope you understand this is why I couldn’t come, but I’m sure this looks amazing to you right now.”
As expected, Manziel took the ribbing in stride.
