ESPN show host Tony Reali apologized on Twitter Monday to Mitchell Trubisky for taking a shot at the Bears quarterback at the end of “Around the Horn.”
Reali zinged Trubisky by saying at the end of the program that he “didn’t want to Trubisky it,” which is a reference to the Chicago quarterback’s accuracy issues. Reali apologized to Trubisky.
@Mtrubisky10 Hey Mitchell, Tony Reali here from ESPN. I would like to apologize for a line I just had at end of AroundTheHorn about inaccurate passes.”I didn’t want to Trubisky it“ was the line. It was small of me. One of those, ‘what a moron I am’ 2 secs after you say it moments

He then said he would be making a donation to a charity Trubisky supports as a way to make amends.
I recall you support the Thumbs Up Mission from cleats you wore for a game recently. Please know I will be paying my error & embarrassment forward in the form of a donation to them. Best to you and yours-again I am truly sorry. Tony Reali

Reali typically plays the role of a neutral moderator on “Around the Horn,” so the zingers and opinions typically come from the panelists. His line about Trubisky was really harmless and not exactly unprecedented. But it’s obvious the host had a guilty conscience over it and did what he could to make up for it.
