FOX announcers push Dak Prescott-CeeDee Lamb tension storyline
Was there something odd going on between Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb during Sunday’s NFC Wild Card playoff game between the Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas? That’s what FOX’s announcers would have you believe.
FOX’s announcing team of Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen talked throughout the first half of the game about potential problems between Prescott and Lamb.
Lamb had two drops to begin the game. FOX also showed footage of Prescott and Lamb talking on the sidelines early as the Cowboys’ offense struggled. Plus FOX reporter Erin Andrews noted that Mike McCarthy had gone over to talk to Lamb during the first quarter, which she said was unusual.
Then after Lamb had a drop, Olsen talked about the team’s offense being off.

Olsen had said something about the players speaking different languages.
the body language between CeeDee Lamb and Dak doesn’t bode well for the Cowboys. they are speaking two different languages thus far in the game

The announcing team’s focus on Lamb’s sluggish first half had many viewers wondering whether FOX knew something the rest of us didn’t.
Is there something weird going on with Dak & CeeDee? Broadcast seems to think so. Just competitive frustration?

Baby K-K and Olsen REALLY leaning into this Dak & CeeDee “dynamic” angle. Are they over-selling it, or do they know something?

Was Lamb’s body language out of the ordinary for a team struggling in a playoff game? Were there some issues between him and Prescott that FOX’s announcers knew about? Those are good questions, but the FOX broadcast sure made it seem like something was going on. After haltime, Andrews reported that McCarthy said any talks between them were about defensive coverages, so he downplayed things. Maybe it was just a case of players being frustrated by a bad start to a game.
