The Jacksonville Jaguars traded one player on the deadline day, but they apparently looked into making other moves.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano wrote in a trade deadline winners and losers column Tuesday that the Jags “poked around” different quarterbacks but did not make a move.
The Jags have slipped to 3-5 after losing four in a row. Blake Bortles was benched during a loss to Houston and was on a “short leash” for the loss in London against the Eagles. The team signed him to an extension over the offseason, showing they believe in him despite his limitations.
The Jags are on a much-needed bye and hoping to get Leonard Fournette back from his hamstring injury in Week 10. They have also added Carlos Hyde for more running back depth.
Graziano doesn’t say specifically whom the Jags inquired about, but he wrote that Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, Nick Foles and Josh McCown were among the quarterbacks teams checked in on before the deadline.
