Jay Gruden gets sarcastic over questions about Redskins’ QB situation
Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden knows that his season isn’t going well, his quarterback situation is a mess, and his job status is in question. So he’s more or less embracing sarcasm.
Gruden was flippant when speaking to the press Wednesday, acknowledging that many thing the team will fail to develop rookie Dwayne Haskins. He also sarcastically noted that he thinks he has a solid plan for the team’s quarterback situation, “contrary to belief.”
Extra snarky Jay Gruden today. At the end of a response to questions about Haskins' development, he adds, "No matter what we do with him we’re going to be wrong, so it doesn’t really matter.” #Redskins

More Gruden QB snark: “I have to see some things for me to make the decision. … Hopefully, after tomorrow’s practice I’ll have a good indication of who I want to play. In my mind, I have a pretty good plan, contrary to belief.” #Redskins

There’s probably some frustration here, and it may well be that the guy just doesn’t really care about the job speculation at this point. He brought some of this on himself, and the fact that the team is 0-4 doesn’t help.
Gruden is still sorting through the health of Colt McCoy and Case Keenum ahead of Week 5. One has to wonder how many more weeks he has at this rate. He seems to know it, too.
