Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was lying to the media last month when he claimed to have no knowledge of a possible four-game suspension to begin the 2016 season.
In June, Bell said he had “no idea” what a reporter was talking about when he was asked about a report that he missed or failed a drug test.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” he said at the time, according to Mark Kaboly of TribLive.com. “People are going to say what they want to say on the Internet. It is people who really have nothing to do. I don’t get upset or let it bother me.”
Now that he has officially filed for an appeal of the suspension he supposedly knew nothing about, Bell admitted on Thursday that the NFL informed him of the violation back in March.

He would have been better off giving no comment. Not that it matters much, but now Bell just looks even worse for denying it.
Bell took to social media earlier this week to assure fans he is not going to miss any games. If the only excuse he has for missing a drug test — or multiple tests — is this one, we don’t like his chances of winning the appeal.
