Mason Rudolph will reportedly be fined for role in Myles Garrett incident
The NFL did not announce any disciplinary action for Mason Rudolph when punishment was handed down stemming from Thursday night’s fight between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, but apparently the quarterback is not being let off the hook entirely.
Rudolph is expected to be fined by the NFL for the role he played in his altercation with Myles Garrett, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The NFL will fine #Steelers QB Mason Rudolph for his role in last night’s brawl, I’m told.

You could make the argument that Rudolph started the fight, as he took exception to a hit from Garrett and then appeared to grab the Browns star by the helmet. However, we see scrums like that all the time during football games, and they typically end with some shoving and one or both players being assessed a 15-yard personal foul. Garrett escalated the situation to a dangerous level when he ripped Rudolph’s helmet off and then hit the quarterback in the head with it.
Because the fight got so out of hand, it makes sense that all of those who were directly involved are facing some sort of disciplinary action. It also makes sense that Rudolph will only be fined while Garrett has been suspended indefinitely.
