Matt Flynn signing with Green Bay Packers

matt-flynnMatt Flynn will sign with the Green Bay Packers, according to reports.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that Flynn will be signing with the team that drafted him in 2008.

The signing seemed imminent after Aaron Rodgers suffered a shoulder injury the same day Flynn was released by the Buffalo Bills last week. Flynn cleared waivers, making him free to sign with any team. The Packers brought him in for a workout on Monday, a day after backup quarterback Seneca Wallace, who was starting in place of Rodgers, hurt his groin in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Third-string QB Scott Tolzien will likely start for the Packers in Week 11 at the Giants while Flynn learns the offense.

There is no word on the injury status of Wallace, nor is there an official timetable on how long Rodgers might be out. An initial report said the MVP could miss 4-6 weeks.
