Mike Tomlin will face one of his former players when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, but the coach insists he has not given it a thought.

Diontae Johnson, who spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Steelers, was traded to the Ravens two weeks ago. When asked on Tuesday about the level of familiarity he has with Johnson, Tomlin essentially said the Steelers do not have to worry about the veteran wide receiver.

“To be honest with you, I haven’t thought a lot about it,” Tomlin said. “He’s not on a lot of their video, so at this stage in the week I don’t know that I’ve weighed what he might mean to the matchup. They’ve got more significant pieces with larger roles that occupy my attention at this part of the week.”

What Tomlin said made perfect sense, even if it came off a bit harsh. Johnson has only played two games with the Ravens, so there is barely any film on him from his time in Baltimore. He has been very limited in those two games and played just five snaps last week, finishing with a lone 6-yard reception. Johnson then had a cryptic social media post after the dud game.

There is no reason for the Steelers to think Johnson is going to be a big part of the game plan against them on Sunday. Tomlin might also not be the biggest fan of Johnson after some of the antics we saw from the receiver a year ago.
