Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel seems to be kicking off the offseason the only way he knows how — by living it up and throwing it down. Over the weekend, Manziel reportedly found himself involved in another concerning incident.
TMZ reports that Manziel was with some friends at Dekan nightclub in Houston when he got into an altercation with a group of fans. A promoter named J.R. who claims he was with Manziel says some people were shouting at Johnny and “aggressively” trying to take photos of him. When Manziel flipped them off, they threw drinks in his direction.
“I ducked and I looked at Johnny and we grabbed security and they ran us out of there,” J.R. explained.
Manziel and his crew reportedly went back to their hotel to change into dry clothes and returned to the club. The people who threw the drinks had been thrown out, and there were no incidents the remainder of the night. Police were never involved.
If this type of incident happened to anyone else, it probably wouldn’t be a big deal. But Manziel keeps saying how he needs to take the offseason more seriously, and then he goes and posts stuff on Instagram that shows him at the club and lounging poolside.
Is it Manziel fault if someone gets aggressive with him and throws a drink? No, but he knows by now that these are the types of things that happen when he goes out partying. The Browns would like to see him do a lot less of that.
