Report reveals when Panthers could consider Bryce Young trade
Speculation continues regarding the future of quarterback Bryce Young with the Carolina Panthers, but it does not sound like any moves are imminent involving the former No. 1 overall pick.
The Panthers have received interest from around the league in Young, but have so far resisted trading him, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. The organization was pleased with the progress they have seen from the quarterback now that he is once again starting, albeit on a temporary basis.
According to Russini, the most likely outcome is for the Panthers to assess Young’s future within the organization at the end of the season. That is the point when they might consider trading him, with rival executives reasoning that the team would be poised to get a better return at that point.
Russini had also reported earlier in the week that the Panthers are still trying to determine what Young’s trade value would be.
Young went 24/37 for 224 yards and two touchdowns last week in a loss against the Denver Broncos, though he did also throw two interceptions. It was a better showing than what he put together to start the season, but he still looked like he had a great deal of room for improvement. He will get another chance to start on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
