The New England Patriots are searching far and wide for a new kicker after placing Stephen Gostkowski on injured reserve with a hip injury.
After hosting veterans Kai Forbath and Mike Nugent for workouts on Wednesday, the Patriots are scheduled to bring in a couple of less experienced kickers on Thursday. One is Younghoe Koo, who won the Los Angeles Chargers’ kicking job out of training camp in 2017 but did not last very long with the team. The other is Josh Gable, a former Indoor Football League kicker who has become known for some crazy YouTube trick shot videos.
The #Patriots are working out more kickers today, bringing in FA Younghoe Koo and… this guy: Josh Gable, whose YouTube videos are bananas. The former kicker for the Nebraska Danger of the IFL spent one rookie minicamp in NE. https://t.co/FcHhYpVXPt and https://t.co/igu3Gffj6I

Koo, 23, went undrafted out of Georgia Southern in 2017. He made 3-of-6 field goals with the Chargers before being cut, and their kicking situation was a complete disaster that year.
Gable, who is 28, has a background in professional soccer and also kicked for the Nebraska Danger of the IFL. The Patriots got a look at him when they invited him to minicamp two years ago.
