Pierre Garcon files class-action suit against FanDuel
Washington receiver Pierre Garcon has filed a class-action lawsuit against FanDuel on behalf of NFL players, claiming that the daily fantasy site exploits their popularity and performance without their permission.
In a statement, Garcon’s attorneys argue that FanDuel exploits NFL players by making money off their likenesses without permission, as well as using them in advertising.
“FanDuel continues to promote and to operate its daily fantasy football gaming product on the backs of NFL players like Mr. Garcon, whose popularity and performance make FanDuel’s entire business model possible,” the statement says.

If you’re wondering why DraftKings isn’t included in the suit, they have a licensing agreement with the NFLPA, according to Sports Illustrated.
This is just another headache for FanDuel and daily fantasy sports sites, as they found themselves embroiled in controversy earlier in October after a DraftKings employee was accused of using insider information to win $350,000 on FanDuel.
