Rams have new plan for running backs after Todd Gurley departure
The Los Angeles Rams are formulating a new running attack after Todd Gurley’s release, and it sounds like things are going to be different going forward.
Rams GM Les Snead suggested that the team may lean on a two-back approach in the future, saying that the offense wants to offer up multiple skillsets out of the backfield.
Les Snead on the Rams' running philosophy after Todd Gurley: "What we do want to be is a team that utilizes more than one workhorse moving the ball, with different skill sets."

The Rams didn’t lean as much on Gurley last season amid chatter that his knee is in bad shape. That hasn’t left them with any experienced options, though, as Darrell Henderson had just 39 carries last year. It means they have work to do to bring this vision to reality.
