Report links 2 teams to possible Davante Adams trade

At least two teams have reportedly reached out to the Las Vegas Raiders about a potential Davante Adams trade.

The New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys have interest in Adams and have checked in with the Raiders, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. While Adams would like to be moved as soon as possible, Russini says the Raiders are in “no rush.”

The Jets and Cowboys are among the many teams monitoring the Davante Adams situation. Both have checked in with the Raiders. I’m told at this point that Vegas is in no rush to make a move until a team reaches their asking price — but Adams wants out ASAP.

The Raiders are reportedly willing to move Adams ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline, but they have attached a fairly high asking price to the 31-year-old receiver. Las Vegas is said to be seeking a high draft pick plus additional compensation in any potential deal.

Adams has an obvious connection to the Jets, as he and Aaron Rodgers were one of the best quarterback/wide receiver duos in the NFL when they played together with the New York Jets. There were reports last season that the Jets were determined to find a way to acquire Adams. Rodgers also seems to want a reunion with his former teammate, which is hardly a surprise.

The Cowboys have a need for another top receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb, but you have to wonder if they would be willing to take on Adams’ contract given what Jerry Jones recently said about passing up on another star player.

Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown this season. He missed the Raiders’ Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns after he suffered a hamstring injury during practice. His status for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos is not clear.
