The Pittsburgh Steelers are still in the process of exploring trade possibilities for Le’Veon Bell, and one situation they are reportedly open to could alter the landscape of both the AFC and NFC.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Steelers would be interested in trading Bell to the Seattle Seahawks for their own disgruntled star player, Earl Thomas. However, the two teams are not believed to have been in contact with one another to this point.
While it’s unclear if the Seahawks would be interested in a Bell trade, La Canfora reports that the Eagles are among the teams that would like to acquire Bell. Sources told La Canfora the Steelers would prefer to trade Bell to the NFC, so perhaps they would be willing to take slightly less than the price they have attached to him that seems to be turning teams off. The Eagles would also have to free up some salary cap space to take on Bell and the roughly $10 million he is still owed for 2018.
We already know of one team that has enough money to add Bell and is reportedly interested, but it does not appear any trade is imminent. With Bell not giving any indication that he plans to report to work in Pittsburgh, the Steelers don’t have a ton of leverage when discussing deals with teams.
