Red Zone anchor Scott Hanson took a shot at Colin Kaepernick while talking about a 49ers highlight on Sunday.
The NFL Network Red Zone channel showed a clip from the second quarter of the 49ers-Patriots game where Kaepernick scrambled for a first down. While announcing the clip, Hanson zinged Kaepernick by saying the quarterback wasn’t weighed down by his “I voted” sticker.
Here's @ScottHanson after the Kaep run, "… not weighed down by the 'I voted sticker.'"

Hanson’s line was a reference to Kaepernick, who led a social movement this season by kneeling for the national anthem, yet failed to vote in the recent presidential election. Many viewed Kaepernick’s decision to stand up and protest the anthem but not exercise his right to vote as hypocritical.
Hanson defended himself after being criticized for his zinger:
FYI: Kaep quip wasn't political.
I was referencing what he admitted publicly.
I own my comment just like he owns his choice. #freecountry— Scott Hanson (@ScottHanson) November 20, 2016
It turns out that Kaepernick has never been registered to vote.
