Update emerges on the severity of Tyreek Hill’s leg injury

Tyreek Hill may be facing a worst-case scenario after suffering a gruesome injury on “Monday Night Football.”

The Miami Dolphins fear that their star receiver Hill dislocated his left knee during their game against the New York Jets this week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Monday. Hill was said to be in an ambulance on the way to the hospital to confirm the news.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network adds that a dislocated knee is far worse than a dislocated kneecap as it often comes with multiple ligament tears.

The eight-time Pro Bowler Hill, 31, was injured while making a catch by the sideline of the Dolphins-Jets game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Fla. Hill caught a 10-yard pass from Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa during the third quarter but got tackled by Jets safety Malachi Moore and had his leg twist underneath him horrifically as a result.

The close-up video of Hill’s injury was also especially brutal.

A dislocated knee for a speedy wide receiver like Hill would be about the worst injury he could sustain. It would also likely throw the remainder of his pro career into question (with Hill currently in his 10th career NFL season).

Hill is still under contract with the Dolphins for a total of $36 million next year. But none of that salary is currently guaranteed, and the team does have a potential out after 2025. As such, it seems very likely that Hill has played his final game in a Miami uniform thanks to that calamitous injury.
