Shailene Woodley sees her fiance Aaron Rodgers in a much different way than the rest of us.
To those who watch football, Rodgers is a savant on the field and one of the best quarterbacks of the last two decades. To Woodley, Rodgers is more of a nerd.
Woodley joined “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for an interview that aired on Monday night. She was asked about Rodgers’ football talent and said she didn’t “get it.”
That’s probably great for Rodgers. He probably doesn’t want a partner who idolizes him because of who he is as a football player, but rather someone who likes him for who he is outside of football. It sounds like Woodley connects with him in that regard.
Rodgers broke up with Danica Patrick last summer and then began dating Woodley. Then Rodgers dropped the news during his MVP acceptance speech that he was engaged. It didn’t take long for them to realize they were right for one another.
As for Rodgers, his affinity for “Jeopardy!” has long been known. Luckily for him his football career is going well enough to stand in the way of a career hosting the quiz show, for now.

Aaron Rodgers got engaged to fiancee Shailene Woodley months after breaking up with Danica Patrick. Rodgers and Patrick dated for around two years before breaking up last summer. It would be natural to figure Patrick would be bothered by Rodgers’ engagement and be asking what she did wrong to not receive a proposal. But she reportedly is not feeling that way.
Hollywood Life published a story on Monday about how Rodgers’ ex-girlfriends are feeling about his engagement. They say that Olivia Munn, whom Rodgers dated prior to Patrick, doesn’t think twice about the Green Bay Packers quarterback anymore. She reportedly could not care less about him or his engagement.
Patrick dated Rodgers much more recently, so her mentality is likely to be different from Munn’s.
A source told Hollywood Life that Patrick “has moved on” from Rodgers.
Hollywood Life was told that Patrick was in love with Rodgers and wanted to start a family.
“She wanted to get married. That didn’t happen. She has grieved about it, but Danica is a tremendously tough woman, and dealing with Aaron is not a part of her future, so she has decided to avoid thinking about him. She is letting the past be the past,” the source said.
Again, these are quotes from a reported source, so they are not necessarily an exact reflection of how Patrick feels. But the explanations seem reasonable.
Patrick, 38, now has dating standards that are said to be off the charts since breaking up with Rodgers. She also hasn’t sparred with trolls regarding the breakup for a while.
Max Homa won The Genesis Invitational on Sunday for just his second career PGA Tour win, and he got a nice shoutout from a famous friend.
Reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers tweeted about Homa’s win and used the hashtag “city of champions” when congratulating the golfer.
Homa is from the Los Angeles area and gave himself credit for joining the Lakers and Dodgers on winning a title. That’s what Rodgers was referencing with the hashtag.
So what’s the story with Homa and Rodgers? They are friends and played at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in the past. You may recall that Rodgers gave Homa a hilarious first tee introduction at the Charles Schwab last year (video here). Rodgers probably loved seeing his friend and fellow Cal Bear get the win on Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers indicated after the season that his future in Green Bay might be uncertain, but he has since put Packers fans at ease. Now, the next step for the star quarterback could be a new contract.
The Packers are projected to be more than $20 million over the salary cap, meaning they have to rework some contracts prior to March 17. Pro Bowl offensive tackle David Bakhtiari recently converted his roster bonus into a signing bonus, which created more than $8 million in cap space. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Rodgers is almost certain to do something similar.
Rodgers is set to make a base salary of $14.7 million next season with a $6.8 million roster bonus that’s due in March. His current contract runs through 2023, but the Packers could give him more guaranteed money and lower his salary cap hit in the short term. An arrangement like that would benefit both sides.
After the Packers lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game, Rodgers said his future with the Packers is “uncertain” just like that of several of his teammates. He later elaborated on those remarks after Green Bay fans were sent into a collective panic.
While there is technically a path for Rodgers to force a trade, it is highly unlikely he will go that route.
One of the more bizarre happenings in the NFL over the last month has to do with Aaron Rodgers’ engagement.
Rodgers revealed in his MVP acceptance speech two weeks ago that he was engaged. That news came only days after a rumor saying he and actress Shailene Woodley were dating.
Even more surprising than that announcement was when Rodgers shouted out actress Jodie Foster when listing all the people he wanted to thank.
Many people wondered why Rodgers mentioned Foster. There was some speculation that she may have introduced the actress and quarterback.
Foster was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday and was asked about the matter. She said that she and Woodley talked a lot while working on “The Mauritanian” together.
“[Shailene] is fantastic,” Foster told Kimmel. “We spent a lot of time on The Mauritanian together in a little tent with a little air conditioning spitting at us, talking about our lives and, you know, recipes and people we hate and things like that.”
Reading between the lines, it sounds like Foster was a big fan of Rodgers as a partner for Woodley and supported their relationship. Foster being in his corner may have helped Rodgers’ relationship with Woodley. That could explain why he thanked her in the speech.
Some people were surprised by Rodgers and Woodley getting engaged so quickly after the quarterback’s breakup with Danica Patrick. Whatever the case, Rodgers seems to be very happy, and Foster does too.
Aaron Rodgers’ new fiancee Shailene Woodley was born in California and spends a lot of time there, but it does not sound like the actress has any intention of trying to convince her boyfriend to leave Green Bay.
Rodgers shocked the NFL world when he revealed he is engaged while accepting his NFL MVP Award earlier this month. Some sources close to the Packers quarterback were just as stunned, while others saw it coming. One source told E! News that the two were introduced last summer and “knew early on that it was something special and different from what they had experienced in other relationships.”
Rodgers and Woodley then spent a lot of time together during the pandemic, and the circumstances allowed them to remain out of the public spotlight. One person familiar with the relationship said Woodley has been very supportive of Rodgers’ NFL career and “made herself at home in the Midwest.”
“They have spent the entire fall together and lived together throughout,” the insider told E! News. “She is very supportive of his career and embraced his life in Green Bay. Even though she has her own career and life, she wanted to be there with him.”
That should be comforting for Packers fans. Rodgers seemed uncertain about his future in Green Bay after the season ended, though he later downplayed that. With both he and Woodley being from California and a certain team having explored a trade for Rodgers, fans in Green Bay may have been feeling a bit uneasy.
As of now, there is no indication that Rodgers is going to retire or want to leave the Packers. It would certainly help if his soon-to-be bride enjoys the Green Bay area as well.
Aaron Rodgers shocked the NFL world on Saturday when he revealed during his MVP acceptance speech that he is engaged. In addition to thanking his unnamed fiancee for her support, the Green Bay Packers quarterback also mentioned a Jodie Foster. Many fans are wondering if those two are linked.
The fiancee Rodgers mentioned is actress Shailene Woodley, or so we think. There have been rumors that Rodgers and Woodley are dating since Rodgers split with Danica Patrick last summer. As US Weekly notes, the Jodie Foster whom Rodgers shouted out was likely the famous actress, who is costars with Woodley in the upcoming film “The Mauritanian.” Foster is also a well-known Packers fan.
Naturally, there is now speculation that Foster may have introduced Rodgers and Woodley to one another. It’s also possible that Rodgers met Foster through Woodley.
Patrick reportedly felt betrayed after her split with Rodgers, as one rumor indicated the former NASCAR driver is the one who introduced Rodgers and Woodley to one another.
Rodgers has yet to confirm that Woodley is the fiancee to whom he made reference. Either way, the relationship progressed quickly. One person close to the quarterback is surprised by the engagement.
Aaron Rodgers stunned the NFL world when he revealed during his MVP acceptance speech on Saturday that he was engaged. Rodgers slyly made the revelation by thanking his fiancee for her support in a video.
It was surprising to learn that Rodgers was engaged in the first place considering there were few rumors about him dating. What’s also surprising is how quickly this happened after Rodgers’ split with Danica Patrick.
“This isn’t like Aaron at all,” a source close to Rodgers told People. “He’s usually so methodical about everything. I’m not saying he’s not a romantic, but he thinks things through. He’s analytical. He is very careful. He didn’t seem to be the type to get so serious after just a few months of dating, especially after the way things ended with Danica Patrick.”
Rodgers and Patrick broke up in July after two years of dating. He and Woodley are already engaged and it’s only seven months later.
People says the two have not set any dates yet for nuptials, but that part is easy. The hard part is proposing, and it sounds like that was a decision that came easily for Rodgers.
The numerous penalties called on the Kansas City Chiefs was one of the big stories of the Super Bowl on Sunday. One person who took note of all the infractions called on KC was Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers “liked” a tweet from “Sunday Night Football” rules analyst Terry McAulay about the way the game was being officiated. McAulay said that the Chiefs were getting squeezed with defensive holding calls.
Some of the calls helped extend drives for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and set them up for scoring opportunities. One of the penalty calls even ignited an in-game beef between Tom Brady and Tyrann Mathieu.
Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers lost at home to the Bucs in the NFC Championship Game. The whole thing makes you wonder whether he felt like Tampa Bay was getting some help on their way to victory. At the least, you know he is bitterly disappointed with the way his team’s season ended. And no doubt he is disappointed with the decisions that led to the Packers’ loss.

Aaron Rodgers broke some news on Saturday night while accepting his third NFL MVP award.
Rodgers on Saturday was announced as the league’s MVP, becoming the sixth player in NFL history to win the award at least three times. During his acceptance speech for the virtual event, Rodgers made a surprising revelation.
Rodgers said that getting engaged was one of his accomplishments in 2020. He also thanked his fiancee during his speech, though he did not mention her by name.
The announcement from Rodgers comes two days after we shared a report saying the quarterback was dating Shailene Woodley. Woodley is an actress who starred in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “Big Little Lies,” among other credits.
Rodgers was first linked to Woodley shortly after his breakup with Danica Patrick. Apparently all the dating rumors were true.
