I think the umpire gave Lackey the benefit of the doubt by not warning him after pitch number one. When he hit Kinsler with pitch number two, it was obvious to almost everyone that Scioscia wanted to send a message to the Rangers in general and Kinsler, the guy who hit two homers the night before, in particular.

Lackey's intentions were obvious. Watch his head on the pitches. He never follows through. He was obviously throwing at Kinsler. Any intelligent fan would know this, unless of course, they are an Angels homer.

I still think a warning was more warranted than an ejection because we can't be sure of his intentions.

I totally disagree with you. I saw the two pitches, and if Lackey is that wild, he shouldn't be in the majors, but playing for the Durham Bulls.

It is really amazing that he threw his warm up pitches all right and then suddenly "lost it" when Kinsler, who had hit two home runs, stepped into the box. He deserved to get tossed when he hit Kinsler with the second pitch after the first one went behind him.

Mike Scioscia's act is starting to get old as well. It seems every team that the Angels have an altercation with must be in the wrong. Mike plays aggressive baseball and then takes offense when opponents do the same thing. He appeals almost as often as Donald Fehr.

Between Scioscia's whining and Rex Hudler's announcing, it is becoming more difficult to root for the Angels.
