Matthew Dellavedova is no LeBron James. And no, we’re not talking about what he’s capable of on the court. We’re talking about special treatment.
CNN’s Rachel Nichols reported on Twitter Friday that Dellavedova told her he missed last call for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ team bus to go back to the hotel after Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday. As a result, he used Uber to get a ride back to the team hotel.
You think the Cavaliers’ bus would ever go anywhere without LeBron James? Not a chance. Delly yes, LeBron no.
And how wild of a story must this be for one lucky Uber driver? You pick someone up from Oracle Arena after the game who just so happens to be one of the players. Though the driver (who could be famous in his/her own right) might not have known it; Delly looks like your average bloke.
