Blue Jays’ $92 million slugger to miss at least 5 months

February 10, 2026 by Matt Wadleigh
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Just a few months ago, the Toronto Blue Jays were one play away from winning the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Entering the 2026 MLB season, the Blue Jays are viewed as World Series contenders once again. Unfortunately, the Blue Jays have already been dealt some rough injury news. On Tuesday, manager John Schneider announced that Anthony Santander would miss 5-to-6 months as he will undergo left labral surgery.

On top of that, pitcher Bowden Francis will miss the entire season due to UCL reconstruction surgery, and Shane Bieber’s return is delayed.

John Schneider provides some #BlueJays injury updates:

– Bowden Francis undergoing UCL reconstruction surgery (out for the year)
– Anthony Santander will undergo left labral surgery (will be out for 5-6 months)
– Shane Bieber will have his ramp-ump delayed, with forearm fatigue

— Mitch Bannon (@MitchBannon) February 10, 2026

The Blue Jays lost to the Dodgers in the World Series in seven games as Will Smith hit the go-ahead home run in the top of the 11th.

The Blue Jays’ loss of Santander is yet another tough injury blow for the former Baltimore Orioles slugger. Santander signed a five-year, $92.5 million deal with Toronto prior to the 2025 season.

Santander had just come off a 44-home run year in 2024 with Baltimore. However, he played in just 54 games in his first season in Toronto, missing time with a left shoulder injury. Santander then played only five postseason games, eventually being replaced on the ALCS roster due to a back injury.

In 2025, Santander hit just .175 with 6 home runs and 18 RBIs in the regular season, but the Blue Jays were hoping he could turn it around and return to his 2024 form.

The roster in Toronto looks different from what it did in the World Series. The Blue Jays signed pitcher Dylan Cease to a $210 million deal and added Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto to a four-year, $60 million deal, although Bo Bichette left in free agency and signed a deal with the New York Mets.

Cavaliers have a perfect giveaway planned for James Harden’s home debut

James Harden has only been a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers for a week, but the team is already using him as part of a giveaway for an upcoming game.

On Wednesday, the Cavs host the Washington Wizards at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. It will be Harden’s first game in Cleveland since the trade, and the team announced they are handing out beards to the fans in attendance.

Harden is famously known as “The Beard,” a nickname that started when he grew out his facial hair while he was a star in college with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Harden has continued to rock the beard throughout his NBA career, and even at the age of 36, the beard is still a well-known staple of the star guard.

The Cavs sent Darius Garland to the Los Angeles Clippers for Harden prior to this year’s NBA trade deadline. So far, Harden has played in two games for Cleveland, scoring a total of 45 points with 12 rebounds and 15 assists combined, including a 22-point and 10-rebound double-double in the Cavs most recent game against the Denver Nuggets.

The Cavs then host the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday before going on the road.

Charlie Woods announces his college commitment

February 10, 2026 by Matt Wadleigh

Tiger Woods will go down as one of the greatest golfers in the history of the sport. His son, Charlie Woods, is trying his best to follow in his father’s footsteps.

On Tuesday, Charlie Woods revealed his college commitment decision, and he has decided to head to Florida State, as he announced on Instagram.

“Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!” Woods wrote.

Woods is a junior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., so he will be part of Florida State’s 2027 recruiting class.

Florida State’s men’s golf team has been one of the best in the country the last few years. The Seminoles have finished inside the top five in each of the past five seasons, and they were the runner-up in 2024.

Woods is 21st in the No. 21 American Junior Golf Association rankings, and the top player, Miles Russell, is also part of Florida State’s 2027 recruiting class.

Florida State has produced some well-known golfers in recent years, with stars such as Brooks Koepka, Daniel Berger and Luke Clanton as a few who played college golf for the Seminoles.

The other finalist for Woods was Alabama, according to the Golf Channel.

Tiger Woods played college golf at Stanford, so Charlie is going in a different direction as he will head to Tallahassee once he finishes high school.

Former Rams Super Bowl champion announces his retirement

A longtime mainstay of the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive line is calling it a career.

Tackle Rob Havenstein announced Tuesday that he is retiring from the NFL at age 33. In a post on Instagram, he thanked his family, teammates, and coaches for helping him along the way.

“11 years, 150+ starts, 4 time captain, 4 NFC West Championships, 2 NFC Championships and 1x Super Bowl Champion. What a ride it’s been!” Havenstein wrote. “I can look back on my career and smile knowing I have given everything I had and more to the game I love.”

A post shared by Rob Havenstein (@robhavenstein79)

The Rams drafted Havenstein in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft and he immediately became a starter on the offensive line. He wound up playing 11 seasons and 148 games, all of them starts, and emerged as a mainstay of the team’s offensive line.

Havenstein was limited to seven games in 2025 due to an ankle injury. It marked the second consecutive season the Wisconsin product missed a significant number of games due to physical issues.

Ultimately, Havenstein will be best remembered for being part of the Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI. He played in 15 games that season, as well as four in the playoffs.

LeBron James’ incredible 21-season streak is coming to an end

February 10, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

One of LeBron James’ most remarkable NBA accomplishments is officially coming to an end this year.

The Los Angeles Lakers ruled James out for their game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday due to left foot arthritis. That means James will not play 65 games this season, making him ineligible for end-of season awards.

As a result, James’ streak of being named to 21-straight All-NBA teams will not continue.

Tonight will be LeBron James’ 18th missed game, which will stop him from reaching the 65-game threshold to be eligible for season awards. His All-NBA streak will end at 21 seasons. https://t.co/0DudWfcZNO

— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) February 10, 2026

Obviously, James has more pressing concerns than another individual honor, but it ends an uninterrupted streak of greatness that may never be topped. He made his first All-NBA team in 2004-05, his second season in the league, and has not missed out since.

James has been limited by injuries this season, and that has robbed him of some other remarkable streaks. Even so, the 41-year-old has been in fine form when available, averaging 21.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for the Lakers.

Moussa Diabate reveals what Jalen Duren did to set him off

Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate on Tuesday addressed the fight that broke out the previous evening between his team and the Detroit Pistons.

Diabate apologized to both the organization and Hornets fans following Monday’s events at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. He admitted that Pistons center Jalen Duren set him off simply by putting hands on his face.

“When he put his hand on my face, that’s where I kind of lost control of it,” Diabate admitted.

Diabate was livid after the initial incident and had to be held back multiple times from going after Duren (video here). He was still riled up several minutes after the incident had cooled down when he was led to the locker room after being ejected from the game.

The incident between Diabate and Duren sparked a wider brawl that led to Isaiah Stewart coming off the bench to throw punches at Charlotte’s Miles Bridges. The NBA is likely to come down hard on everyone involved, but Diabate in particular could be in for some significant punishment due to his role in escalating the situation.

Deshaun Watson could still have role with Browns

February 10, 2026 by Grey Papke

The Cleveland Browns still have Deshaun Watson under contract for 2026, and new coach Todd Monken suggested he may well use him.

In a new interview for the team’s official website, Monken admitted he is “intrigued” by Watson, and noted that the 30-year-old was once a superstar while with the Houston Texans.

Monken even put Watson’s name in with Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel when discussing potential starting quarterbacks.

“You’ve got a player like Deshaun, who’s coming back from injury and at one time was a Pro Bowl player, and an elite player in this league, that we would love to tap back into that let alone with Dillon and Shedeur,” Monken said, via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.

Watson is now fully healthy, and the Browns even opened his practice window late in the season, though nothing more came of that. He has largely been written off due to injuries and ineffectiveness, but thanks to his 5-year, $230 million guaranteed contract, the team is stuck with him for one more season.

Watson has only made 19 starts in a Browns uniform since they controversially traded for him. He underwent shoulder surgery in 2023 and tore his Achilles twice after that, but was not all that impressive even when he was playing.

Norwegian Olympic medal winner admits to cheating on girlfriend in wild interview

A Norwegian Olympian seemingly admitted to cheating on his girlfriend in a bizarre interview after he won bronze in the biathlon.

Sturla Holm Laegreid, who finished third in the biathlon 20km race at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, seemingly confessed to Norwegian newspaper VG after the race that he had cheated on his girlfriend and publicly begged her to take him back.

“There’s someone I wanted to share it with who might not be watching today. Six months ago I met the love of my life – the most beautiful and kindest person in the world,” Laegreid said, via Philip O’Connor of Reuters. “Three months ago I made my biggest mistake and cheated on her. I told her about it a week ago. It’s been the worst week of my life.

“I had a gold medal in my life, and there are probably many who look at me with different eyes, but I only have eyes for her. Sport has taken a slightly different place (in my life) the last few days. Yes, I wish I could share it with her.”

Laegreid admitted it might have been “selfish” to give the interview, and said he hoped he had not ruined compatriot Johan-Olav Botn’s day after Botn won the gold medal in the event.

The bizarre moment was heavily covered on Norwegian television, and one of his teammates even questioned whether the interview was the right time or place to make such a confession.

Laegreid is a previous Olympic gold medalist, having won as part of the men’s relay team at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing. He is scheduled to take part in the same event in these Olympics as well.

Justin Verlander has officially signed to play in 2026

February 10, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Justin Verlander will play at least one more season in Major League Baseball.

Verlander is signing a one-year contract with the Detroit Tigers, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. It marks a return to the team he debuted with and spent the bulk of his career with.

Right-hander Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a one-year contract. Verlander, 43 next week, returns to the team with which he spent his first 13 seasons and whose hat he'll wear in the Hall of Fame.

— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) February 10, 2026

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported that Verlander will get $13 million, with most of it deferred.

Verlander turns 43 next week, and it is fair to question whether he will have a huge role in the rotation. The team has a crowded pitching staff, especially after signing Framber Valdez last week. However, it will certainly qualify as a feel-good signing for a fanbase that still has a high opinion of their former ace.

While Verlander is not the pitcher he once was, he can still get outs. He made 29 starts for the San Francisco Giants last year and posted a 3.85 ERA. Regardless of the context, posting a slightly above-average season at the age of 42 is remarkable.

Verlander initially played for the Tigers from 2005 to 2017. He won two Cy Young awards and an AL MVP award while a member of the team, and was part of four playoff teams. He joins the Tigers fresh off an 87-75 season and an ALDS appearance.

Mike Vrabel responds to criticism of Will Campbell

February 10, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel offered a passionate defense of a rookie player who took a lot of heat for his playoff performances.

Left tackle Will Campbell, the team’s fourth overall pick in last year’s draft, had a brutal postseason, culminating in a Super Bowl in which he allowed a season-worst 14 pressures. The rookie offensive lineman has Vrabel’s full support, however.

“Will is 22 years old. He’s our left tackle. He’ll get better. He’ll get stronger,” Vrabel told reporters Tuesday. “There’s plays he’d like to have back. We’re not moving Will to guard, center, tight end or anywhere else.”

Patriots HC Mike Vrabel with a strong defense of rookie LT Will Campbell amid criticism: “Will is 22 years old. He’s our left tackle. He’ll get better. He’ll get stronger… there’s plays he’d like to have back. We’re not moving Will to guard, center, tight end or anywhere else.”

— Cameron Wolfe (@CameronWolfe) February 10, 2026

Campbell himself admitted he played through a torn knee ligament and was not 100 percent during the playoffs.

Will Campbell said he tore a ligament in his knee this season. He wasn’t 100% for the playoffs but said it’s not excuse.

— Mark Daniels (@ByMarkDaniels) February 10, 2026

The injury certainly offers some explanation for Campbell’s struggles. He had a rough outing in the AFC Championship, but his Super Bowl performance was even worse. It was bad enough that many were questioning if the Patriots had used the No. 4 overall pick on a bust.

The Patriots’ offensive line as a whole struggled to keep Drake Maye upright in Sunday’s game, and it was the biggest reason for their defeat. Campbell will have to get his confidence back ahead of next season, but he at least has his team behind him.

Details emerge about 49ers’ Keion White being shot

February 10, 2026 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

A police report on the incident that led to Keion White’s shooting reveals that the San Francisco 49ers edge rusher got into a dispute with a famous rapper before being shot.

White allegedly got into an argument with rapper Lil Baby when the rapper tried to enter White’s private event at Dahlia’s in San Francisco, Calif., on Monday, according to Jonah Owen Lamb of The San Francisco Standard. A witness told police that when the argument began, they went upstairs to get management’s help in defusing the situation. While away from the scene, they heard two gunshots, and returned to find White shot in the ankle.

The witness said he did not know who shot White, and police have not named a suspect.

Previous reports have suggested that while White was shot in an altercation, he was not believed to be involved in the altercation. His injuries were not believed to be career-threatening.

White, 27, was acquired by the 49ers in a trade with the New England Patriots last October. A former second-round draft pick, White appeared in 11 total games for San Francisco this season (regular season and playoffs).

Overall on the year, White logged 16 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery for the 49ers. The Georgia Tech product is under contract with San Francisco for the 2026 season at a total cap hit of $1.8 million.

Ex-Puerto Rico coach Rick Pitino weighed in on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance

February 10, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The polarizing Super Bowl LX halftime show by Bad Bunny continues to be the talk of the town, and St. John’s Red Storm head coach Rick Pitino let everyone know where he stands on it.

On Sunday, the 73-year-old Pitino shared his thoughts on the Puerto Rican artist with a post on social media.

While Pitino is not a Latin music connoisseur, he has great memories of Puerto Rico in large part because of his job.

“As someone who spent time in Puerto Rico as their National Coach, watching Bad Bunny at halftime was awesome. @sanbenito you have a seat on the Johnnies bench anytime. Viva Puerto Rico!” Pitino wrote on X.

Among Pitino’s many stops in his coaching career was his stint as the head coach of Puerto Rico’s national team. In 2015, he helped Puerto Rico finish fifth at the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City, Mexico.

While we don’t know if Pitino got up from his seat and partied to the tune of Bad Bunny’s DtMF (Debí Tirar Más Fotos) during the halftime show, he has the Red Storm on track to make it to the Big Dance in March.

The No. 19 St. John’s improved to 19-5 overall and 12-1 in Big East play, while extending its winning streak to 10 games after taking down the Xavier Musketeers, coached by Pitino’s son, Richard, on Monday, 87-82, at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y.

Chargers get the meme treatment after hiring Adam Gase

February 10, 2026 by Rex Villas

Adam Gase is back in the NFL — and so are the memes he inspired several years ago.

On Monday, reports said Gase would be joining the Los Angeles Chargers as an assistant coach under Bolts offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, who is also a new addition to the team’s coaching staff.

Shortly after the news broke that Gase is returning to the NFL for the first time since the 2020 season, memes and hilarious reactions found their way onto social media.

Many of the reactions brought back to life memes inspired by Gase’s intense gazes during his introductory press conference in 2019 as the New York Jets’ head coach.

Jokes aside, this is a chance for Gase to convince everyone again that he can still be an important contributor as part of an NFL team’s think tank. His stint with the Jets did not help elevate people’s perception of him, as he went just 9-23 in the 32 games, but that may have had more to do with the franchise’s poisonous nature than his abilities on the sidelines.

Now with the Chargers, he’ll be able to work with an offense led by a talented quarterback in Justin Herbert, who is coming off his second Pro Bowl season in the NFL after passing for 3,727  yards and 26 touchdowns with 13 interceptions.

Video: DeMar DeRozan reaches boiling point in wild scene during timeout

February 10, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

It’s gotten so bad for the Sacramento Kings that veteran forward DeMar DeRozan took out his frustration on a water bottle on Monday.

During a break in the third quarter of a game against the New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, La., the six-time NBA All-Star was unable to control his emotions, as he slammed a water bottle to the floor. Court attendants immediately tried to clean up the mess, while DeRozan walked on the sidelines with a towel on his back.

Frustrations are growing for the Kings. DeMar DeRozan just slammed a water bottle to the floor, sending several courtside attendants scurrying into action to mop up the mess. pic.twitter.com/emrtpcnRdu

— Jason Anderson (@JandersonSacBee) February 10, 2026

It was not a good look on DeRozan, but he was clearly bothered by the level of effort shown by his team against the Pels.

“A lot of stuff we do is self-inflicted,” DeRozan said after the Kings’ 120-94 loss to New Orleans, via  Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee.

“Us not being in the right spots, make it a chain reaction, them getting back in transition, getting easy shots, easy buckets, so (the water bottle incident) was just me wanting us to play the right way, win, lose or draw.”

The defeat at the hands of the Pelicans was Sacramento’s 13th loss in a row. With just 12 wins to show through 55 games, it is safe to say that the 2025-26 campaign is another lost season for the Kings.

At 36 years old, DeRozan doesn’t have much time left in the league, as he continues his search for that elusive first NBA title.

Unfortunately for the former USC Trojans star, he is under contract with Sacramento through the 2026–27 season. Unless he’s traded before his deal expires, his chances of playing for an NBA championship will remain slim.

LeBron James admits the ugly truth about the Lakers after loss to the Thunder

February 10, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

LeBron James has seen a lot of basketball in his life. He knows what it takes to win it all in the NBA. So far in the 2025-26 season, he’s not convinced that his Los Angeles Lakers are on par with a championship-caliber squad like the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers saw their three-game winning streak get snapped on Monday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif., as the reigning NBA champions Thunder executed better down the stretch to come away with a 119-100 victory over James and company.

The 41-year-old James did not mince his words when asked about how the Lakers compare to Oklahoma City.

“You want me to compare us to them? That’s a championship team right there. We’re not,” the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player told reporters after the game.

“We can’t sustain energy and effort for 48 minutes, and they can. That’s why they won a championship.”

Perhaps it was a subtle way for the future Basketball Hall of Famer to challenge his team, as the season goes deeper and the NBA Playoffs get nearer.

The Lakers hosted the Thunder without superstar Luka Doncic due to a hamstring injury, but that can’t excuse their loss. For one, Oklahoma City played without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander because of an abdominal issue.

Against the Thunder, James tallied 22 points on 9-for-17 shooting to go with 10 assists for the Lakers, who have a short turnaround before hosting the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.

Yale's Jordan Brathwaite takes a 3-point shot

Yale sends game into overtime with one of the season’s craziest shots

February 10, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Monday featured some big college basketball games involving ranked teams, but even the non-marquee matchups delivered excellent entertainment. Just take, for example, the showdown between the Yale Bulldogs and the Howard Bison at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C., which went down to the wire in the second half.

Howard looked poised to shut the door on Yale when Bison sophomore Isaiah Brown made both his free-throw attempts to extend his team’s lead to three points with 15 seconds left in regulation. The Bison then called for a timeout to map out a defensive plan against Yale.

Needing three points to tie the score coming off the timeout, Bulldogs sophomore forward Riley Fox pulled up from behind the arc but missed badly.

However,  Yale got an extra possession off an offensive rebound by sophomore guard Jordan Brathwaite, who had the presence of mind to take the ball out to the 3-point area, where he went full Ray Allen and sank a desperation triple to tie the game at 71-71 and force overtime.

What made the entire sequence crazier was the ball going through the legs of a Howard player before Brathwaite recovered the leather.

You can watch it all here:

Yale forces overtime against Howard on one of the wildest shots I’ve seen 😭

It was an on-brand play for Yale, as the Bulldogs are the most accurate 3-point shooting team in the nation with a success rate of 41.7% from deep.

Yale didn’t waste the opportunity in overtime, with the Bulldogs coming away with a hard-earned 87-81 victory.

Tommy Lloyd pushes back on Darryn Peterson talk after losing to Kansas

February 10, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

No. 1 Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd had nothing but respect for the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks after their 82-78 loss to Bill Self’s squad at Allen Fieldhouse in Lexington, Ky., on Monday.

Darry Peterson’s absence seemingly became a topic as big as the game between the blue bloods, but Lloyd would rather talk about how great the Jayhawks were than the star freshman.

“Let’s not make this about Darryn Peterson,” Lloyd told reporters during the postgame press conference, via Rachel Hallam of KWCH 12 News. “They beat the number one team in the country at home tonight.”

For Kansas to pull off such a win against a powerful visitor despite missing its best player says a lot about the Jayhawks’ strength as a team, and Lloyd simply wanted to acknowledge that.

With Peterson ruled out just before tipoff because of flu-like symptoms, the Jayhawks relied on sophomores Flory Bidunga and Melvin Council Jr., who each scored 23 points. Bidunga added 10 boards, 3 blocks and 1 steal, while Council had 6 boards, 6 dimes and 1 steal for Kansas, which improved to 19-5 overall.

Arizona got 25 points from freshman guard Brayden Burries and fell to 23-1.

It is not about to get easier for the Wildcats, as their next three opponents are all currently ranked, including the No. 16 Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday at McKale Memorial Center in Tucson, Ariz.

Jazz coach does not even hide the fact his team is tanking

February 9, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy did not even try to play coy Monday about his team’s tank operation.

The Jazz conspicuously sat their two All-Star players, Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr., in the fourth quarter of their close game against the Miami Heat. Despite the pair of star forwards not playing down the stretch, the Jazz still won the road contest 115-111 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Fla.

During his postgame press conference, Hardy was asked about the decision to keep Markkanen and Jackson on the bench late.

Reporter: “How close were you to putting Jaren or Lauri back in the game in the fourth quarter?”

Hardy: “I wasn’t.”

Asked Jazz coach Will Hardy how close he was to putting Lauri Markkanen or Jaren Jackson Jr. in the game in the fourth quarter.

— Five Reasons Sports 🏀🏈⚾️🏒⚽️ (@5ReasonsSports) February 10, 2026

Hardy didn’t even try to sugarcoat the decision with some lame excuse about injuries. The Jazz coach admitted that he intentionally kept out his two best players in a game they still ultimately ended up winning.

Markkanen tallied 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Jackson led the team with 22 points across their three quarters of play. The victory improved the Jazz’s record to 17-37, keeping them a full game outside of the bottom-5 teams chasing the best lottery odds.

Fans may recall that Jazz president Austin Ainge guaranteed last June that the team was done chasing ping pong balls. Monday’s result and subsequent comments from Hardy ran counterintuitive to that promise.

Duncan Robinson wanted absolutely no part of Pistons-Hornets brawl

February 9, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao

Duncan Robinson was not in a fighting mood Monday when it felt like all of his Detroit Pistons teammates were during their game against the Charlotte Hornets.

A couple of brawls broke out in the third quarter of the contest at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. The wild fracas began when Hornets center Moussa Diabate and Jalen Duren got into it midway through the period.

Duren pressed his palm on Diabate’s face, which enraged the latter. The two had to be separated as Diabate repeatedly tried to charge Duren for the disrespectful move.

Hornets forward Miles Bridges threw a punch at Duren moments later, leading Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart to come running from the bench to join the fight. Stewert put Bridges in a headlock and threw a punch as if they were in a UFC octagon.

Robinson, however, was unmoved by it all. The frustration was written all over his face as he walked away from the scrum like a disappointed father.

Diabate, Bridges, Duren, and Stewart were all ejected from the contest. Suspensions for all four players are sure to follow.

Despite the Pistons being down their two best centers, Detroit was able to hold on for a 110-104 victory. Robinson let his play do the talking in Monday’s contest rather than his fists. He finished with 18 points on a stellar 8/10 shooting clip.

Two players were ejected Monday after a brawl broke out during an interconference game between the Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Fireworks went off to begin the fourth quarter at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Timberwolves center Naz Reid and Hawks center Mouhamed Gueye got tangled up in the period’s opening possession.

Gueye shoved Reid to the floor as the latter was setting a screen for Jaden McDaniels. Reid took exception to the push and got up into Gueye’s face. The altercation escalated from a heated exchange to some serious grappling as players from both sides tried to keep the two big men apart.

Reid and Gueye were both ejected from the contest following the tussle. The Timberwolves were already up 19 points when the incident took place. Minnesota cruised to a 138-116 victory without Reid on the floor.

Brawls were breaking out left and right on Monday across the NBA slate. A wild melee also occurred during the Detroit Pistons-Charlotte Hornets game that saw several punches being thrown.
