Human Home Run Shot from Cannon at Lowell Spinners Game (Video)

Most promotions at sporting events come in the form of giveaways — especially at the minor league level.  You might recall the particularly hilarious one that the St. Paul Saints recently came up with or all the good ones the L.A. Angels have provided over the past few seasons.  Then there are those promotions — like a person accidentally dunking them self through a hoop — that give us enjoyment without actually giving us anything.  The human home run at a recent Lowell Spinners game is a perfect example.  Check out the video courtesy of My Fox Boston:

That takes some serious stones.  The first thing I thought of when I saw this clip was Johnny Knoxville nearly losing his leg on the human rocket in one of the Jackass movies.  Thankfully nothing like that happened here and I’m sure the stunt was well-planned, but it’s tough to imagine something couldn’t have gone seriously wrong when you see it.  In other words, a well-executed human home run is worth the price of admission.
