Brandon Bostick botches onside kick catch (Video)
Green Bay Packers tight end Brandon Bostick cost his team by failing to recover an onside kick by the Seattle Seahawks in the final minutes of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
The Seahawks were down 19-7 and scored a touchdown to make it 19-14 with 2:09 left. After scoring, Seattle went for the onside kick and the high bounce went directly to Bostick, who was on the field as part of Green Bay’s “hands team.” Bostick let the ball go through his arms and bounce off his helmet, where it was then recovered by Seattle.
Knowing how big of a mistake he made, Bostick was on the sidelines with his head down:
After the game, Bostick acknowledged that his role was to block and that Jordy Nelson, who was behind him, was supposed to go up for the ball. However, Bostick said he wanted to try making a play on the ball.
Though he has received plenty of support from Packers fans for the mistake, there are many giving it to him hard over Twitter.
