Depressed Brandon Spikes tweets he was suicidal after Super Bowl loss

How down was Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes after his team’s loss? Feeling badly enough to tweet “suicidal thoughts.” There isn’t much commentary to add here, but it just shows the obvious pain some of the players were feeling. Some people will argue that this is what the Patriots deserved. I liked Spikes a lot more when he was rocking his happy pink suit.

It’s a game, get over it.

I hate to tell you, but professionalk sports is not a game. It is a career. And in fact, most sports were NEVER “just games” because they were made for adults and THEN became games for ikids.

Have you ever thought of the exact percentage of Americans who call “professional sports” a career?

It is a game, and not a real career. It may be a career for 0.0001 percent of the population who is blessed enough to have loads of talent AND physical ability….but for the rest of the world, it is a GAME.

And it is not even an argument that society benefits far more from children playing organized sports than it does from actual professional sports. The only real function that pro sports serves is to distract the population from the real issues and problems that should be focused on. It is nothing new, and it was a staple for the ancient Roman elite. Panem et circenses.
