
San Diego Chargers rookie right tackle DJ Fluker was penalized 10 yards on Sunday night for bodyslamming Oakland Raiders pass rusher Sio Moore.
Moore bull-rushed Fluker on a first and 10 play from the San Diego 20 late in the third quarter. Moore got caught between Chargers linemen Fluker and Jeromey Clary and was lifted into the air. But Fluker decided to take it a step further by slamming Moore to the ground.
Moore was on the ground after being slammed by Fluker, which likely drew the officials’ attention to the play. Fluker was flagged for a personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct. After the bodyslam, the Chargers marched down the field and scored to decrease the Raiders’ lead to 24-17.
I don’t remember too many other NFL players getting penalized for a bodyslam, so that certainly seemed unique. But we have seen some other bodyslam tackles recently. Take a look at those below:
