Jaguars to start Chad Henne in third preseason game
A change at quarterback may be in the works for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A week after Blake Bortles struggled in his preseason outing against the Buccaneers, the Jags said Bortles’ job was in jeopardy. That seemed to become more clear after a report said Bortles and backup Chad Henne split snaps evenly over the weekend.
Now it seems that the pendulum is swinging even more in favor of Henne.
The Jags told the team on Wednesday that Henne will start the team’s preseason game against the Panthers on Thursday.

The third preseason game tends to be the most critical one, so if Henne is starting, it’s a strong sign he could end up as the Week 1 starter. The veteran is in his sixth season with the Jags, though he’s only attempted 78 passes the past three seasons. Henne has passed for more interceptions (63) than touchdowns (58) during his NFL career.
