Vikings FB Jerome Felton got a DWI while in the McDonald’s drive-thru line

Unfortunately, professional athletes getting arrested on charges of driving while under the influence is nothing out of the ordinary. Considering these are supposed to be role models who have bright futures ahead of them, it’s a shame it happens so often. However, every now and then a player comes along and puts a unique spin on the same old boring story. Vikings fullback Jerome Felton is a prime example.

Felton was arrested and charged with a second-degree DWI early Saturday morning. Depending on your definition, he wasn’t exactly “driving.” According to ESPN 1500 in Minnesota, Felton was waiting in a McDonald’s drive-thru line. Eden Prairie police say they responded to a call about a drunk man waiting in line for his food at around 3:00 a.m. When they arrived, Felton reportedly refused to submit to a breathalyzer and failed a field sobriety test.

To make matters worse, Felton was also charged with third-degree DWI with an aggravating factor since it was his second DWI in the past 10 years. Good to know he learned his lesson the first time around.

Listen, we would never condone driving drunk here at LBS. It’s bad news, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible, and it puts lives at risk. That being said, why would you stop at McDonald’s if you’re behind the wheel of a car and you know you have been drinking? There must be some Ramen noodles or Easy Mac at home to whip together to satisfy the drunken munchies. Smarten up.
