Petition to replay AFC Championship Game has over 60,000 signatures
Last week, a Baltimore man named Scott Latshaw started a petition on Change.org that is seeking to disqualify that New England Patriots from the Super Bowl. Because of the Deflategate scandal, Latshaw believes the AFC Championship Game should be replayed between the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts.
As of Wednesday morning, more than 60,000 people agreed with him.
Latshaw posted an update on Tuesday after surpassing 40,000 signatures.
“A week later we now know the balls were intentionally deflated in the Raven’s game as well,” he wrote. “The locker room attendant the NFL has been questioning will eventually spill his guts and make the connection to Brady. Although it’s the 11th hour, I will always believe in miracles. Thanks to everyone who signed the petition !!! We made The Sporting News!!!”
As we know, no amount of signatures could remove the Patriots from the Super Bowl. The NFL has reportedly looked at a video of a New England locker room attendant taking game balls from the officials’ locker room to another area, but a follow-up report created more questions than answers.
We’re guessing Latshaw is a Ravens fan. I’m sure John Harbaugh and company appreciate the thought, but it’s really nothing more than just that.
