Michael Jordan reportedly angers country club by wearing cargo pants on course

Anyone who golfs on a regular basis can tell you that there are a few basic dress code regulations that need to be followed while on the course. Typically, cargo shorts and cargo pants are not allowed and a collared shirt is required. If a player wears shorts, they are supposed to be Bermuda shorts. Apparently Michael Jordan plays by his own rules.

According to the NY Post, Jordan angered some folks at the exclusive La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach recently with his choice of attire.

Michael was wearing cargo pants on the course,” said a spy. Jordan’s multipocketed pants were apparently against the dress code that, sources say, dictates that members and guests must be attired in a collared shirt and Bermuda shorts. But when 6-foot, 6-inch Jordan was offered a chance to change outfits, he demurred.

“He was given the chance to change but he didn’t want to,” a source said. The source added that Jordan, who was enjoying a round at the club with one of its members, played on anyway. The source added that members complained about Jordan breaking the rules and, “He won’t be invited back.”

That sounds about right. One of Jordan’s representatives said he did indeed wear cargo pants but that he had worn them multiple times at that course before and had never been told he was in violation of the dress code. M.J. has become a notoriously horrible dresser in his retirement, even inspiring this hilarious Tumblr page.

In addition, His Airness has been accused of being a bad neighbor and leaving half-smoked cigars all around the community he lives in. He has always marched to the beat of his own drum. Some people just don’t appreciate it.
