You never know with QBs. Very few 1st round picks make it big in the NFL. The defenses are faster and the quality of the players is better in the NFL than college.

Those Florida QBs don't make it big in the NFL because the backs and receivers make them look better than they are. Where is that QB that helped to beat Ohio State a couple seasons ago? That Ohio State QB is not starting in the NFL either. Brady and Henne were not that good in college. And the bad call against the Raiders gave Brady a championship he and the team should not have. I think Clements is better than Sanchez. Sanchez should have sat a year or stayed at USC for another season. He and the Lions rookie QB threw a lot of interceptions. So did Peyton as a rookie. Joe Namath was a decent college QB but a terrible Pro QB. Had it not been for calling a win in a championship game and a mssed field goal by the Colts, Joe Willie would not be in the Hall of Fame. He too threw a bunch of interceptons. So you never know about a QB. Tebow won't be running over under-sized DBs in the NFL. He needs a professonal throwing coach. He threw some ducks in a game I watched on TV. Then, he did throw a beautiful ball to a receiver in his last Bowl game. He has skills but the NFL is what it is. Sometimes college players leave their game on the college field. Every player can't play in the NFL. Tebow did his college thing and it's time to move on. It wil be years before any player breaks Tebows college records. And don't forget, he played in the SEC. That is a pretty tough conference. He and his teams beat some of the best players in the land. Tebow might not want to play NFL football.

The ex-coach is making his point. He is right. Not all first round QBs make it in the NFL. Just go back to the 90s and look at all the #1 QBs and running backs that did not make it big in the NFL. They were all college super stars but NFL bust. Go back and check and you will see what I am talking about. A number one pick is not a sure shot NFL player. That sixth round pick could be better suited for the NFL. That is just how it goes. And don't forget about the politcs of sports. The likes and dislikes. Steve Young could throw rings around Montana. He stayed on the bench for years before he got a chance to show his skills. He did better than Montana. So politics plays a big role in the NFL and all sports. Tebow will not escape the politics.

I don't think Kyle Boller won at the same rate that Tebow has in college and in high school. Handing your starting QB job to Boller should get you calling bowl games. When I see Tebow, I think McNabb and Steve Young. If he is able to go to a stable team, with a coach that has the support of the front office, and is able to sit and learn for a year, he will be a very good QB (Big Ben, McNabb, Young, Brady, etc.) If he goes to a garbage team with a coach on the hot seat, he will be like the other unsuccessful QBs taken early. Jamarcus Russell is garbage because he is allowed to be. Don't forget that Darren McFadden is garbage on the same team. Does he suck? No, but the whole organization does. It's not rocket science. They want to pick on Tebow's release, but watch other college QBs, they all do the same thing...

Brian Billick is a clown and his envy of this young man's talent was evident by his poor judgment of what the future holds for this player - who the hell made him an expert the coach that failed at every turn judging someone who has done what no other quarterback has done and then gets dissed by an idiot - good on you Jimmy Johnson for putting Billick in his place.
